Algumas Reflexões sobre um Discurso Político

RESUMO: O reexame crítico do movimento armado de 1932 contra o Governo Provisório de
Getúlio Vargas sugere questões ainda hoje desafiadoras a seus estudiosos. Entre elas, a mais crucial talvez, constitua a apreensão dos motivos e valores que impelem agentes a agir politicamente em oposição ou defesa de modificações na forma das relações vigentes. Para elaborá-la, parte-se da reconstrução da mensagem política dos partidos paulistas e da forma de sua divulgação em época na qual a comunicação social se operava fundamentalmente através de associações de classe e de órgãos da imprensa. Por este motivo, o passo preliminar na determinação de alguns traços constitutivos do “ser paulista”, condensação da identidade simbólica estadual e cerne da mensagem de 1932, conforme apresentados na obra de alguns de seus mais importantes ideólogos, é o objetivo do presente trabalho.

ABSTRACT: A critical re-examination of the 1932 armed insurrection against Getulio Vargas Provisory Govermnent poses some challenging questions to researchers. Maybe the most critical one is the perception of the motives and forces which move people to act politically in opposition or defense of changes of present relations. To ellaborate them, one starts with the reconstruction of the political message of the paulista parties, at a time when social communication was done basically through professional associations and thepress. This article attempts to stablish,
aspreliminary step to identify some characteristics ofthe ‘ ‘ser paulista’ ‘, the condensation of the state symbolic identity and the core of the 1932 message as presented in the works of its most important ideologists.
